Getting a late start due to her taking care of one of her last remaining family she had left, her grandfather who has since passed away, she heads on her journey where she teams up with a fifteen year old girl by the name of Raine whose dream is to be an amazing breeder like the rest of her family. Along the way, Azalea meets Professor Augustine Sycamore and the two become friends and have a slight attraction for each other. But while Azalea gets annoyed by Augustine, Augustine begins to like Azalea a lot. For years, the two don't say anything, just remain friends due to her Absol being overprotective of her. Around the start of Pokemon X&Y {TV SHOW} Azalea returns to visit her friend and check on her Espeon who had been in Augustine's care for about three years due to Espeon's friendly rivalry with Garchomp as a Gible. It is then that she encounters Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and his friends who notice that Azalea and Augustine are in love.
