Memories make us who we are. So Henry undoubtedly wasn't the same boy who I once was infatuated with. His face didn't light up like it used to when he saw me. Instead his face was blank and unmoved of emotion. He seemed dead even though he was only a few feet away from me, alive and breathing, his firm chest moving up and down repeatedly while his dark eyes scanned over me like he was looking for something. I watched his brows furrow slightly and then watched him start to turn away from me. "Henry!"

Then it was Peter Simons, Antonion Marde, and Mila Whiter. One by one, teens from the small town started to disappear. Rules were made to keep the teens safe but nothing seemed to be working. When Zara's boyfriend Henry Pierce goes missing along with her older brother Ben, instead of hiding out like the rest of the teenagers, she seeks answers. She comes up with a plan but things head south when Zara is captured too. When she sees Henry and everyone else, she feels hopeful. This hope disappears when she finds out that she is the only one with any memories at all. They are all empty shells eager to feel whole again so the only way they do this is by trusting the people who "saved them".
