The world has gone back in time, where technology is nonexistent. The world used to be lush and beautiful with sky's as clear as day, till the very thing man depended on destroyed them.Technology. A new world was born, a new threat was made. 16 year old Jade Aner and 15 year old Violet Lade stumble on a plot against their four humble villages. When they are tasked to stop it, one thing is realized, they lived in a small world. Where there's technology , there's always that hint of death. History had its time, but will it be any better?

Due to overpopulation in the colonies, the Cleansing Squad is sent in to weed out all of the imperfect. Anyone who fails their Examination, and therefore, serves little to no purpose to the great nation of Noredge, will be escorted out of their colony and into Purity, Noredge's capital, for public execution. Fourteen year old Violet Foxwood lives in the colony of Nobility with her father and younger sister. Examination day is perceived as a death sentence to the household, especially after losing their mother to the Exam.
