Dropped as an infant on her grandfather's doorstep, Aislinn had detached herself from those in her past and kept her true family close; grandmother, grandfather, club performers, and her band mates. Though small, her world was perfectly centered and thriving. Battle of the Bands was upcoming and they hoped to take first prize with the promise of a recording contract hanging in the air. She never asked for more, for what could the blessed really want? Those thoughts shattered as her parents return, wanting to step in and be part of her life. Never a card, letter, nor greeting crossed the doorstep, and her once peaceful world flips upside down; her birth givers demanded her affection, the band was breaking apart, and her once loyal boyfriend has turned to another. As she fights to maintain her sanity, Aislinn will make the ultimate decision that will either pay off or end in disaster.

This is a story about life, finding oneself in unfamiliar territory, losing those we love, staying together with those we love, growing up, hardship, and above all else, finding a way through. Stay strong, dear reader, there may be rough water ahead. **** It is important to note that there is disturbing content in this story. I am not a woman, and I do not presume to know all the hardships a woman may face. I do not intend this story to take away from real stories, nor do I intend to make myself seem somehow righteous in telling of the hardships of others, even in a fictional sense. I only wish to acknowledge the cruelty in this world, and the reality of the suffering of those who suffer, who are hurt, who are victims.
