The day before the Marshall family leaves town to watch Changement de Cirque, Adrian finds the journal of her long lost, and presumed dead, sister.

Knowing that she's going to be in a new place for the week, Adrian brings the battered notebook along with her and discovers things she never thought she would.

With the inner thoughts of her sister in one hand and the other being held by Bart, a boy from Changement de Cirque, Adrian soon finds out how much one could change after a week with the circus.
