One promise is what allowed Acnologia to keep his humanity and sanity, for the most part, intact. 

The vow? To look after five dragonslayer children sent into the future, originally part of a plan to counteract Acnologia if he turned into a true monster, the same monster which brought despair to Alakatasia. 

But who knew this promise would lead him to look after children other than those five dragonslayers over the years? Acnologia has faced and felled many beasts, but nothing could prepare him for the trials and tribulations of guardianship (though some would call it parenthood).

The leader of the dragons is non other then the chaos dragon, Acnologia and his only son, Natsu. About a few weeks ago Lucy Heartphilia joined the guild to help in defending against dragon attacks. One day Acnologia sends Natsu to finish the job. The dragons start by attacking Magnolia primarily to wipe out Fairy Tail. In the middle of the battle while instructing the other dragons, Natsu gets distracted when he sees Lucy and blacks out. He was shot out of the sky and taken into Fairy Tail's custody. He wakes up in captivity and is treated terribly by the guild except for one person. One person that changed his life forever. The Celestial Mage who stole and calmed his angry flames and his heart.
