Aaliyah's love for Mira was as deep and irrevocable as that Romeo and Juliet's, Rose and Jack's and closer home, Laila and Majnu' s. What fettered them was an article in the country's constitution and the fact that they shared the same gender.

This is my second entry for the #JaaneDeMujhe contest and also my take on love of a kind that a huge segment of our society still labels as 'unnatural'.
