Whatever hides in the dark, whatever she sees at night, when all the lights have gone out, Meredith fears. A nightmare is revealed, the veil protecting her from the most evil of forces, is lifted. She can't run, she can't hide. It is inside, and she cannot get out. Can she? Meredith Cunningham does not live the life of just any other teenager, she doesn't really belong to this world either, but she tries her best to fit in, to blend in with the crowd. Her family however, much more traditional than she is, does not always understand her desire for a normal, mortal life. The Cunningham's are nothing short of outworldly, which is something hard to hide, especially when she tries to be as honest as possible with those who do not come from the same world. All the responsibility and pressure she feels from both sides is difficult to deal with, but things worsen when her life and the lives of the ones she loves are threatened to be torn apart by none other than the devil himself.
