A pulp novella originally published in somewhat shorter form in the anthology "Legends of New Pulp". A prohibition-era moonshiner stumbles across curiously wolf-like apes and a mass grave of bloodless young women, which leads him to a strange barren world dominated by a black castle and to a threat to all of humanity.

Deep in the jungle of Colima, an archaeologist finds a rumoured cave. Inside he discovers a journal. The journal is very old and isn't made by animal skin. Esteban, the archaeologist, takes it back to his home and begins reading it. He quickly realises that the contents of the book, while disturbingly sick, isn't written by a human. While Esteban is reading in his office, strange happenings begin to terrorise his daughter, even becoming violent. EVIL MUST REMAIN BURIED.
