Ignominy is a novella inspired by true events. Who is the ugliest girl at Winterfall Middle School? To everyone, it's Marlon Lawrence - a 13-year-old with big glasses, long coal-black hair, and clothes that never seemed to fit in. She lives with a drunkard father and a double-minded aunt, carrying a world of pain behind her quiet eyes. Then there's Friar Williams, the 13-year-old popular boy everyone admires. He has the looks, the charm - and a secret. Deep down, he has a crush on the girl everyone mocks. As time passes, Friar dares to befriend "ugly Marlon" and gives her a first kiss that could change everything. But with cruel bullies circling and her spirit fading, will love be enough to stop Marlon from taking her own life?

C.J. Hardelle is just your average high school girl. She was never afraid to speak her mind and always stood up for herself and others, not to say she didn't cause trouble, because she did. Her best friend and seven older brothers didn't help. Her brothers raised her after her mother died and her father left. Her brothers literally came in sets for the most part. There were three sets of twins, then there was Cason, the youngest of her big brothers. He didn't have a twin and was only a year older than her. Her best friend Brenna was a bad influence but they loved each other the way only the best of friends get. They were like sisters. They were both Artists, and fighters. Nothing could come between them. There were two boys in her life she wasn't related to. Her on and off boyfriend since 7th grade, Aron. and Carter, the annoying boy that used to bully her, but they were always secretly friends. They just wouldn't admit it. I'm on team Carter through most of this, but what do I know? Its her life not mine. Always interested in what team you are on throughout the story though. Any way, read on to learn all about C.J.'s secrets. (Under review and editing.)
