Everyone knows that when you live forever it gets lonely that's why when Ester created the Originals she also created the Original soulmates. Ester knew that one day her children would need someone to love, especially Niklaus, so she created the Original soulmates, the only people her children could truly love and have a family with, but mainly she created them so her children would keep there humanity.
