*This novel is in its third draft and will be reworked sometime in 2025. One of the planned changes is a new chapter or two near the middle to help bring up the word count and strengthen some of the themes in the novel. Despite it, I'm posting it to see how it does with readers, and any feedback would be grateful. For his spring break trip, Timothy (Tim for short) Kerzenmacher joins his uncle, Dr. Henry Pierman, to the science facility he works at. Today's special due to one of the science teams powering on the piece de resistance of the future: a sentient A.I. named Charlotte. Of course, nothing goes right and she's bent on eradicating human error from her test results. Tim must survive the now hostile Athena Laboratories and escape with help on the way. Will he make it the surface? Will his perception on what makes us human change?
