After the 53rd killing game, Shuichi Saihara and the rest of the contestants are left wondering what had happened during their time inside of the simulation produced by Team Danganronpa. Wiped clean of their memories of these events, they all continue their daily normal lives, not able to piece together why they feel such destructive sadness and paranoia.
Shuichi is left in the dark until he comes into contact with a unique contestant named Kokichi Ouma. Kokichi seems to know a lot more than he's putting on, and Shuichi's 'detective' skills prod him to figure out the secret of the 'V3 Simulation'. What had happened, and what is it that Team Danganronpa is hiding?
Putting together their skills, they venture to find this information. Though, while uncovering the truth, they start to find that it was amongst themselves all along.. and sometimes, the truth is worth leaving behind.
