Shape shifters. A rare species with varying abilities. But this story isn't about them, but rather one shape shifter in particular.
A parentless shifter named Idem. After his parents deaths, Idem was left with his aunt and uncle at the age of ten years old. After he turns seventeen, his aunt and uncle sell him to breed with a daughter from a powerful family.
Drugged and helpless, Idem does what they want, and becomes the father of a little girl. Idem is allowed four years with his child before he gets paid and can leave.
After the first year, Idem comes to realize something after watching a parent kill their own child. These people have no love for their own blood. So, with three years of planning, and help from some old maids, Idem runs away with his now four year old daughter.
But how long will they be able to outrun this family?

In a land far away, lived Morphers and Shapeshifters. Morphers were people who could morph into one animal, and Shapeshifters all animals. Royalty, people who lived in the center region of the land, could morph into four animals. There were six regions. One was the snowy, one the forest, one the beach, and one the plains. Those were four of the six. Then, there was the Shapeshifters land, filled with hills, and the royal land. The royal land was very posh, and the queen lived there. The Shapeshifters were getting very powerful through the days. The queen told them of a story to the people of the land."The Shapeshifters have been hiding a truth. They came to this land as robbers, robbing all of our things. So, I came to the land to stop them. The Shapeshifters are becoming really powerful, and they pose as a threat once again," she would tell the people. People got scared. When the Shapeshifters came to visit them, they would freeze in fear. The queen took action. She separated the land. The Shapeshifters were kicked out of the land. Only some remained in the hills, hidden. Though the people didn't realize that their queen wasn't telling the truth. In fact, the story was the other way around. The queen was the one who stole the land. She took over the land and the Shapeshifters surrendered. *** One day, two young twins were born in those hills. Book 4 of the Cross-Shifter Series. Can be read as a stand-alone but might be confusing at the beginning for a bit.) Being captive for years has soured Palace's outlook on just about everything. He sat in a rusty hauling container for weeks at a time, missing his big brother terribly, the only person he'd ever had in the world for so long, only to be sold to disgusting people who wanted him for illogical reasons. Over that time, he became a killer. He didn't like it at first, but soon it became second nature. Besides, in his new world, where his original master only viewed him as another giant check, and those he sold him to saw him as their next horrible fetish until he ripped their throats out, he found little reason to behave favorably. So, when a lion shifter crosses his path right before he is likely to be sold again, and actually treats him like he wasn't just a piece of meat to try and use, Palace isn't quite sure how to handle him.Complete

Welcome to fantasy amateur hours! This is my first time writing that kind of novel. Hopefully there's a bit of improvement along the way. Feel free to tell me what works or not! A story about a facility filled with brutally tormented experiments and lots of hidden secrets to find out. Our protagonist is a 16 year old orphan with two main goals in mind, free the trapped people within the facility, and solve all of the secrets it holds. This story contains mystery, major gore themes, sad moments, and found family. Will everyone make it to embrace freedoms loving arms? Or will there have to be some sacrifices in the process?

The dragons have come and gone since the Pliocene epoch when Wooly Mammoths roamed with humans during the ice age. For many of the I and E generation in the Americas and parts of Europe, it was something to avoid being taken by them to their world. But many knew the stories they told, the things they saw and missed, and in this world of social media, the child coming home, reborn as a shifter. For 16-year-old Nathan that was his reality. For 11 years he's not only avoided getting grabbed but helped others avoid a similar fate. But a black dragon was watching him grabbing him only to lay low in the nearby woods, something they did to pick out who'd they take. It did that for 10 years, more than 3 times longer than usual. His actions and the amount of time he had avoided them made him a sort of celebrity in his town in the midwest. But one day that black dragon made its decision, he was to be her hatchling. When they're usually marked the child could turn to protective mode, running from home to prevent drawing attention to other children for the picking, and that's what he did, right to where they last landed. Luck, choice, a possible spell in those claws, whatever you may think doesn't matter. A black dragon never misses its mark. With agility unsurpassed by the other types they're almost impossible to avoid. But these dragons didn't breathe fire, were a threat, nor in any way the size of a 747 max. All they had that was unique from other creatures was a highly evolved brain with the intelligence of a human and a heart of platinum. Note. Some creatures don't belong to me in any way.
