Shape shifters. A rare species with varying abilities. But this story isn't about them, but rather one shape shifter in particular.

A parentless shifter named Idem. After his parents deaths, Idem was left with his aunt and uncle at the age of ten years old. After he turns seventeen, his aunt and uncle sell him to breed with a daughter from a powerful family.

Drugged and helpless, Idem does what they want, and becomes the father of a little girl. Idem is allowed four years with his child before he gets paid and can leave.

After the first year, Idem comes to realize something after watching a parent kill their own child. These people have no love for their own blood. So, with three years of planning, and help from some old maids, Idem runs away with his now four year old daughter.

But how long will they be able to outrun this family?
