A dangerous story is bubbling and almost all the Narrators are scared to tell it. Cracks in the World of Stories are spreading, and the ominous Shadow High is gaining power. Only two young, brave Narrators, Brooke Page and Fluffle Puff, are ready to tell this tale.

As the first cracks show, the Ghoul Squad are accidentally transported to Ever After High, where they meet the princesses of Ever After along with some familiar faces. After the girls recover from the shock of learning that fairytales and monsters are real, they discover that the Evil Queen has escaped her mirror prison in search of the ultimate power, hidden in Shadow High. The ghouls, princesses, ponies and Brooke and Fluffle must stop the Evil Queen and save the World of Stories from the evil that lurks in Shadow High!All Rights Reserved

Soon, they go to the Lost Cities, and when Alden Vacker gives the news about Sophie having to leave her human family, he also explains that, due to the discovery, the Equestria Girls have to stay in the Lost Cities as well. He's completely aware that they had been sucked into the story, and for good reason. He also says that they need to split when it came to relocating them, just so nothing bad would happen. As the girls go through Sophie's journey of discovering her true self as one of the most powerful elves in the Lost Cities, they make friends, fall in love, and discover unimaginable powers they never expected to have before this. However, with this new life comes secrets. Sophie's life isn't like the other elves. She has a secret past, one Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Sunset may also be connected to. After all, not only is Rainbow Dash, Twilight, and Fluttershy are missing, and according to Pinkie's movie knowledge, Brietta, an older sister Annika is unaware of, is missing as well. However, today was Annika's birthday, and she sneaks out with her friends to celebrate at the rink with everyone. It's around that time that the sorcerer Wenlock strikes, coming in and asking for Annika's hand in marriage. When she refuses, he proceeds to turn everyone but Annika, Shiver, Sunset, and Applejack to stone, and says that if Annika doesn't marry him in three days, they're stone forever. Quickly, two pegasi and an alicorn fly in scooping up the three humans. In shock, they realize that Annika is riding a Pegasus (Brietta), but the more horrifying discovery is that Applejack is on Rainbow Dash and Sunset is on Twilight. Together, the three ponies and humans (and Shiver) fly to Cloud Kingdom, where they meet the queen Rayla, and explains that Wenlock had transformed Brietta, Fluttershy, Twilight, and Rainbow Dash to ponies, with Twilight being an alicorn despite having transformed into a unicorn just three movies before. The only way to break all of Wenlock's spells is to create the Wand of Light, created by a measure of courage, a ring of love, and a gem of ice lit by hope's eternal flame. The humans travel with the ponified Equestria Girls and Brietta to meet Adian in the forbidden forest, who agrees to help them after a reluctant meeting between him and Annika. Can they build the wand and reverse the spells?
