After the death of her mother, Zoe's life changes. She stumbles onto the knowledge of something very dangerous, and it is feared she will not survive the journey. The only way to prepare herself and to keep the secret of what she knows to herself, Zoe manages to become apart of a feared assassin league which conveniently is where two important people in her life are apart of. Knowledge is deadly, but with each technique Zoe learns, she'll turn deadly to power. But the only thing more controlling, more engulfing then power is revenge and Zoe's mother's death may not of been accidental. Can the two men that love Zoe dearly be the ones to save her from herself? Or will she fall into her own destruction of over-flowing hatred, regret and perhaps even her own ending. Revenge is sweet, but so was Zoe...

"Why me?" Zoe is continuously asking herself this question; because of her situational circumstances. Zoe Bryant is a timid, yet curious 17-year old girl, who once had a zest for life. Furthermore, Zoe's once vibrant personality has been tarnished by the most popular girl in her school, Marla Dunham. Marla is a uniquely specific kind of evil. Moreover, she is continually figuring out ways to torture Zoe without pause and, for example, tearing her down emotionally and physically in front of the entire school, threatening to come to her house, and jump her daily, which forces her to stay inside. However, there has to be a reason why Zoe is her primary target. Right? This anger that Marla has towards Zoe is justifiable. Isn't it? Or is Marla hiding behind a mask of hate to disguise her true motives for targeting Zoe?
