The angel feels a tug in the back of his mind, and he allows himself to be swept away by it. When he looks down, he finds a child with great, beady eyes and hair tangled every which way. For a moment, he hopes the child would see past his superficial guise, to see the angel for what he truly was.

But the moment passes, and the angel is left with words uselessly hanging from his mouth. The child blinks, ever so curious, hands clasped together.

"What's your name?" the child asks. The angel exhales a breath he didn't even know he was holding.

The angel smiles at the child, remembering a million things at once. He crouches down, recognizing the adoration in the youth's eyes. With a flourish and roll of his shoulders, the angel doesn't realize his wings are unfurling. "My name is... "
