Narn I Tinuviel (The Tale of the Nightingale) by SamPettus

A prose re-telling of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lay of Leithian, this relates the full story of the love and labors of Beren and Luthien in the First Age of Middle-earth. This is aimed primarily at Tolkien fans who want the full story but who do not want to read the original Lay. I have tried to keep my own intrusions to the minimum necessary in order to keep the story moving, and I have also tried to capture both the style and spirit of the original Lay in prose form as much as possible. I have used other sources, most notably The History of Middle-earth book series, for where the Lay ends uncompleted. This manuscript was originally completed in 1997, revised considerably in 2009, and is returning to the Internet in 2017 after an eight-year hiatus. It is my gift to Tolkien fandom. No infringement intended and implied (and all that), and I hope it remains both free and freely available to all from now on.

Elanor has always wondered what it is like outside of the Woodland Realm. Elrond has watched both of his daughters grow he could see how much they remind him of their mother and himself. Arwen is more like their mother Celebrian. Graceful, gentle, full of hope, brave. Elanor is more like her father, Lord Elrond. Passionate, strong, kind, and faithful. When Elanor met Legolas in Mirkwood, they fell in love with each other, but with the enemy still at large and the ring of power lost, Middle Earth is still in danger. As years passed, Middle Earth's lands got darker by the decade until one day a group of dwarves and a hobbit came to Rivendale and started Elanor's journey to the lands of Middle Earth. This is a collection of stories, each piece a standalone, which I originally wrote between 2001 and 2005. They center on the life of Maedhros (usually called by his Quenya name of Maitimo in my stories), and his love for Fingon (Findekano). They are in roughly chronological order except the first one, however they can be read in any order. The characters are owned by the estate of JRR Tolkien but the words are mine.
