Vapour - rare something fanciful that lacks substance or permanence.
Vapour is the perfect way to describe V. She is something different and for it seems as her lack of existence. Her feelings are dark and she shows no real emotion. Her life is fake.
Then in a new town, she meets the trouble twins, aka Scott McCall and Stiles Stilinski. She gets dragged into many situations with them, which brings her to meet Derek Hale, who she doesn't know what to think about him. But there is something about him that forces the two together. She also finds out about her history, something which completely ties her to the word 'vapour'.
