On the night that Voldemort went after the Potters, he killed James when he got in the way, but, he merely knocked Lily unconscious. When she came to, Harry's cot was empty and her husband was dead on the floor downstairs. Lily thought that Voldemort has killed her son. She was devastated, the only thing that kept her going was the child growing inside of her. She had been about 5 weeks pregnant when James and Harry were killed. When she finally gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lily went to two people for help. The first was Severus Snape, Lily asked him to help raise the girl. He said no because even though she had Lily's red hair and green eyes, she was the offspring of James Potter. The second person Lily went to really surprised her. When she asked them to help her, they said yes. Lily just had to agree to help them in return.

Like her nephew, Emily became friends with Weasleys, but her Weasley friends were Bill and Charlie. When Emily was of age, she still hadn't heard much of her nephew. Remus didn't even tell her that he was still alive until she was almost fifteen. She missed the boy, though she had only really known him for a year before James and Lily were gone. Emily wanted Harry taken in to her care once she was of age, but Dumbledore would not allow it. He believed Harry was safe with the Dursley family. So, Emily left to Romania with Charlie, but not for the same reason as Charlie. While Emily lived in Romania with Charlie, she did not follow the same career path. Charlie worked with dragons, and Emily decided to be a babysitter for wizards and witches. The money was great, which made her wonder why Dumbledore believed she was incompetent of raising Harry. She wanted him to have the best, but she'd never be able to see him. When she does finally meet him once again, not everything is going to be all sunshine and rainbows...Complete
