The story begins with a mass shooting at a middle school in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Among the victims is the only child of Jim Canon, a successful banker.  Enraged by his loss, he seeks vengeance by killing the people he believes are most responsible for the proliferation of firearms in the U.S.

Jim is pursued by Curt Kage, an unorthodox FBI agent.

Other investigators think Jim will end his reign of terror by attacking an NRA convention.  But Kage-who is struggling with a growing affection for Jim's grieving wife-suspects the man is planning something more spectacular.All Rights Reserved
