There was a white fog in the Puppet masters eyes and it went away after Alenia...couldn't do what had to be done. She couldn't kill him, she wasn't a killer. Good thing to because the Puppet master was never really...evil. Think about it, what if he was enslaved himself? Being toyed with by another being that was more stronger than any of the warriors and dragons, he was being treated like a puppet this whole time.
