In the shattered world of Regius, great skyships traverse the expanses of open air between the inhabited fragemns, or islands in the sky. Pirates prowl the airways, preying on merchant ships and any unlucky enough to cross their path.
Aboard one such pirate ship, the young swashbuckler, Gideon, sails the sky plundering along with the rest of his crewmates. That is, until one day when he comes across the ship of a princess on a perilous, secret mission to save her kingdom and the fate of Regius itself.
Gideon decides to joins the princess in her quest. Cutthroat brigands, Armadas of warships, terrifying storms, shadowy enemies, and treachery from all corners threaten to throw him off of his path and into the swirling abyss of the sky.

This is still very much a work in progress, and, as such, will even contain some notes to myself occasionally in parentheses for changes that I haven't yet implemented. Thanks for understanding.

Divided against the wishes of fate, a pair of unlikely friends or, perhaps, strangers find themselves at opposite ends of Oepus and of an uncharacteristic longing. The wheels of consequence begin to turn, plunging the world into a bloody darkness unlike any other, begging the question: what is the worth of a single life? Scattered by the harsh designs of reality, Axtapor and Mariel are forced to confront the aftermath of runaway hopes. A new struggle begins to take shape as their worlds narrow around them, and the reprieve of dreams becomes newly alluring... Directionless, they descend into the deepest parts of the mind, grasping at fate in search of the truth. But they are not the only ones searching for answers. Elsewhere on the seas of Oepus float, Captain Fay Anara and her Quartermaster, the famed Son of The Moon. Voracious, the two set sail upon the Mirage for their most ambitious pillage yet. Their take? The high seas themselves. But when the long arm of fate intervenes, reality warps, memories begin to fail, and things take a turn for the worst. And somewhere, a wailing can be heard. Faintly, faintly, a cursed door swings open once more, shattering the notions of what is and isn't possible. Are you brave enough to step through? *Contains mature themes, such as violence, gore, body horror, sexual content, and offensive/triggering language, please read with care and at your own discretion.*

❖ ''ZF 16 Ariomma to unknown vessel. Please identify yourself. Over.'' ❖ Farah and Kazem are twins working aboard the Ariomma, a trading airship that sails the edges of a flat world. Out here is a frontier far from civilization: a place known as the Tideless, where water lifts from the surface of the sea, and great creatures rise with it. Only some of them are known. This is not a sailing path known for its safety, but the crew of the Ariomma have rarely feared their work. That is, until they find the carcass of another ship hanging in the Tideless, decimated by an unknown enemy. Soon, their flight to safety becomes a fight for their lives, as the monster turns its attention on the Ariomma... and them. ❖❖❖ Written for #NONC2022, a community-run novella festival operating in parallel with Wattpad's 2022 Open Novella Contest.
