Arianna Desalvadore was diagnosed with cancer at age 11. The doctors all told her she would be fine; that the survival rate for her particular form of cancer was high. Six years later, and she's still not "fine". She gave up all hope of suriving long ago but kept her cancer a secret from everyone but immediate family, keeping up a facade of being the same Arianna she was before- happy, bubbly, etc... instead of revealing her new cynical and pessimistic view of life. Then she collapses at school and the truth comes out- that Arianna Desalvadore, the girl who was perfect, had cancer. So she decides to unleash the new Arianna- the one who doesn't care about anything anymore. She is content with her decision until she meets Devin Newell- the New Kid. He wants to help her. He believes that she needs to let people in, allow them to go through her battle with her, but she is not buying it. After havng such a rocky past, full of secrets that few people know, who would? Will Arianna open up to Devin and allow him to enter her life, maybe even as more than a friend? Or will her time end before she has the chance?
