Mei's twin sister, Nina, killed herself when they were both fourteen years old. Mei was, at the time, an aspiring pianist, while Nina's dream was to win gold at the Olympics. After her death, Mei decides to give up on her dream and fulfill her sister's instead. Her siblings, however, know that she is not happy doing so. Because of this, her older brother enrolls her in a music school for her senior year. There, Mei makes many friends, including a boy in a predicament similar to hers. Will Mei decide to follow her dream and become the pianist she wants to be? Or will she follow her sister's to the very end?
