Thanks for reading "This Week in Literary History" but this is the end of the line. The past year has been filled with enlightening and insightful literary stories. Please enjoy the archives. Check out my other on going blog under the mature filter "This Week in Crime History."

Why are we captivated with the lives, deaths, and burial places of famous people? Perhaps, it is the lifestyle, or maybe the promise of immortality, which serves as the incentive. Is it that their joys, loves, triumphs, defeats, last moments, and final resting places, all encompass a life we do not have?

Ever wonder how and why the classic novels, poems and plays of world literature came about? In Michael Thomas Barry’s award winning Literary Legends of the British Isles and America's Literary Legends, the reader is taken on a journey into the best of English and American literature in concise reviews of the lives of some of the greatest writers and poets in history. Learn how these distinctive individuals helped shape literature from the late-medieval period through the mid-twentieth century. These anthology's take a fresh approach literary history and through brief and engaging biographies the great writers come alive.

If you can’t wait and want the whole story. These books can be purchased directly from Schiffer Publishing, Barnes and Noble, Powell's Books, Amazon and other fine book sellers. Visit Michael's website www.michaelthomasbarry.com for more information.

Mankind devoured - BOOK 1 by LoganDavies9
21 parts Complete Mature
Hello, Logan here. It is 2021, and this is the first book that I ever wrote. It's shit. I'm publishing it back on Wattpad again so my friend can read it. It is unedited and as I left it in 2017. I am currently published with three books out, and this is so funny to look back on. Enjoy reading my shittest work to date. Lots and lots of love, Logan Beadnell-Davies The overarching theme for this first book is a theme of rage and hatred. In the words of a great philosopher; there is no limit to the gruesome and grotesque things we are willing to do in the name of survival. While reading this; Remember that not everything is as it seems. Remember that loved characters will die. Remember that the world will gradually get worse as the parts go on. Take a moment to ask yourselves these questions: What would you do in the name of survival? Would you steal to survive? Would you kill to survive? Would you lose your mind to survive? If you lost your mind, do you think you'd kill more, steal, injure, backstab, rape or any other atrocity you can think of? If you can think of it, then maybe you would. The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. DESCRIPTION: The Infection claimed the lives of over 3 billion people before the TV's went off. But it would claim many more. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. In this new world, the true evil that humans are capable of gradually becomes more apparent, and a part of everyday life. Normality doesn't exist, people don't help other people. Friends aren't a thing anymore. All anyone truly has is themselves, and the burdens they carry.

There are many millions of parallels. Worlds living and breathing at the same time - time doesn't even exist, 18th century England is living and breathing alongside the present day. While London is living in the past, Afalon is pushing toward it's future. 7 sons, a rare and lucky amount, are Princes in line to the throne. Melanie is in the 18th century, conning each village out of their wares in exchange to see but an inch into their future. Then, after an unlucky exchange, she's dragged into the floating court-city of Afalon in the Æther - another world entirely - to stand trial for someone else crimes. Trial by fire. Trial without end. Ameline has been busy pillaging and murdering her way through Afalon for months, making the ælfin pay for what they did to her family. Then, on a whim, she decides to go big or go home. She kills one of the Seven Princes. Those same princes who embody the attributes of each deadly sin... Now, another girl is brought from her homeworld, Earth, to stand trial for Ameline's own crimes. Worse still... she recognizes her face so, so much. It's her own. A doppelgänger. A modern twist on terrible childhoods and anti-heros. Melanie and Ameline's story is a page-turner you certainly need to start, but with such tragedy and twisting themes of joy and horror you'll want to finish. In the future, there is no medicine that can save you. The government is gone. The days are hot, and the dangers many. Welcome to the continent of Aotearoa. The country of Gossfordshire is in crisis - the King is dead, his children are being murdered, and trade with their neighboring country Motueka has dried up leaving Gossfordshire on the brink of starvation. Ritty, the King's son, seeks to restore the peace and bring Gossfordshire back to its glory days, but his efforts are increasingly hampered by Randall, the head councilman-come-dictator, who sets out to bring the kingdom under his control. Also stifling Rittys goals of normalcy is Magnus, aided by councilwoman Thatcher, who sees a much more egalitarian vision for the future of Gossfordshire. Between Randall's aim of national domination, Rittys want for normality, Thatcher and Magnus's revolution, and a mass migration crisis moving upwards from the Southern States, only one thing can be certain; Gossfordshire is entirely unprepared for what is coming.
