Taken from his resting place beneath the ground, Dănuț Vasile finds himself trapped within the Holy Roman Church. Threatened by the two most dangerous vampire hunters in all of Europe and watched closely by his past enemies he is forced into employment under the Pope in return for his life.

His journey takes him to northern Italy to assist the vampire hunters in destroying what the people of Florence refer to as La Peste Rossa, "The Red Plague," which has destroyed the lives of many citizens over night. Tired of being held hostage by all that he meets, the Antichrist attempts to wield The Red Plague for himself.

When old friends begin to reappear and ancient wounds start to tear once again Dănuț wonders if perhaps in the ground is where he belongs, for all viruses must be cured.

And then he'd watch it all burn down, Only to repeat it again. Until she was completely ruined. If his soul was black, why did he need any color to his lfie in the least bit? Adrias simply wasn't a human that was born, he's purely nothing but a fire set from the depths of agonising hell. And who knew she would find comfort in the arms of the devil.
