It all started when Phil saw Dan's tinder account. Sure, they went to the same school, but after that picture Phil saw Dan in a completly different light. That does matter though because Phil isn't interested and he makes that clear or at least that's how it starts. Basically a high school au where Dan and Phil are in different French classes, and the school has a limited budget, so they have to share textbooks with someone in another class.
