This is as much a tale of finding acceptance in others, as it is a tale of finding acceptance within oneself. But don't worry, there's a romantic subplot and the characters get up to some comedic hijinks sometimes.
Gabriel is a bonafide fashionista, makeup artist, and high school student. Juggling his struggles in academia, the work it takes to keep a fashion blog running, and the time it takes to get his makeup *just* right, Gabriel doesn't need any more stress on his plate. Of course, his classmates don't care about whether or not he is stressed out. They're more concerned about if he's a girl, or gay, or anything else. Sadly, no one wants to take the truth as an answer. He just likes fashion, and he likes to wear makeup. He's straight, and he's cisgender, the only difference is that he's just fabulous. And dare I say, a bit attractive.
At least, the love interest Alexis thinks so. She's a trans girl just going through the motions, trying her best to pass to avoid harassment and to feel better in general. But she doesn't want to think too much about it. She knew the best way to kill both birds was to use one stone, so she asked Gabriel to help her with her makeup and fashion.
This sparks a fiery romance and more than a few moments of comedic relief.
