Elene is the twin sister of Alfred and the only daughter of Athelstan, who was the best friend to Ragnar Lothbrok. Calling her curious, headstrong, stubborn, opinated and brave would be an understatement. Her fascination with her father and his connection with the vikings has grown over the years, as well as gotten her into many troublesome outcomes.

When Ragnar Lothbrok finally returns, he brings her hope that she might be able to leave this cursed place. That she might be able to be reunited with her father. That she could get to know the one person who knew her father better than anyone. That freedom is just waiting on the horizon ready to be grasped.

But that is what hope does, doesn't it? Allow you to have faith in the unknown and dreams of fairy tales. Only to have it crushed before your very eyes.

Sometimes... what you expect is not what you receive. And it may not be what you want but it could be what you need.

A tiny fleet of useless men, a cripple with a temper and an old and broken king who abandoned his people (years ago), sailed to Wessex. A place with hundreds of trained soldiers and kings who would do anything to put the head of the famous viking - King Ragnar Lothbrok that slaughtered their people and raided their lands, on a silver platter.

Add a wild fireball princess to the lot.
