Taylor was abandoned as a child, chained up in the cold because her mother couldn't afford to take care of her and it was a way to get her to stop following her. After almost freezing to death in the cold winter air, she is saved by Hibiki Lates who thinks that she's a boy. She doesn't question him due to her boyish looks. She just goes along with it until they are twenty years old when she accidentally reveals her gender to him after saving him from drowning during the Oracion Seis arc.

In the years that they've known one another Hibiki tried not to fall in love with his best friend who he believes is a guy. When it is revealed that his best friend is a girl he feels less of an idiot and realizes that he's always loved her.
