The Shot was Fired
A group of friends deal with life in the trenches along the Western front. Young German soldiers sent to fight a war they were told would be over by Christmas, soon realize that they aren't going anywhere. I did as best research as I could at the time, I'm sure it is not 100% accurate. This was written several months ago based on a story I wrote in middle school. I decided to I wanted to post this somewhere just in case someone else found it, maybe I can get some feedback. I know it is far from perfect and I have thought about going back and reworking it but just have not gotten around to it.Complete

I, Aurora, was different from everyone I knew. I felt and saw things that nobody could even fathom. But I had to hide it. Our society strictly suppressed such things and I felt I would be in danger if I was found out. All I wanted were answers as to why I was this way. Why did the injections that should have suppressed everything have no effect on me? Was I the only one? Maybe as the new receiver alongside Jonas, I will finally get the answers I have always wanted. **IMPORTANT NOTICE** I started writing this story years ago and have recently decided to scrap everything and restart, HOWEVER, I did not have the heart to delete what I originally wrote so, the first "chapter" of this book is actually all the chapters I had out before scrapping the story all rolled into one for the sake of preservation.
