Rei knew protecting everyone and everything she loved wasn't possible but she tried. She tried 'till it broke her.
She wished being a hero was as easy as the stories made them sound. You get to fly around and beat up bad guys, right? You didn't have constantly worry about the safety of your hero friends and family, right?
