Astrid Wingham was just an echo, she no longer existed. In her place stood the new and not so improved Alexa Holton. Astrid finds herself caught up in the affairs of the greatest criminal minds in the world, and despite her memorable past with crime, she happily finds herself in the middle of the great game. With her criminal father still gone missing, and the greatest criminal mind as her boss, will she stay strong in this dangerous world? Or will her separate feelings for two men cloud her judgement?

(A/N I am a huge fan of the Sherlock universe and I've always wanted to write about it. This fiction is set in the same time as the BBC Sherlock series, however it also has it's own story created by yours truly. I've kept everything in cannon as much as possible, the only exceptions being alterations to scenes to include Astrid. Also a quick mention to Ariane DeVere's transcripts on live journal, you're a lifesaver! I should probably also add that the only characters that I own are my original ones, the rest belong to the genius' Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat!!!)

{SUMMARY: EDITED} Follow the exciting life of the consulting detective, Sherlock Holmes as him and his flatmate, John Watson, try to catch James Moriarty, a consulting criminal who is only known to them as the "Invisible Man". However, it isn't long until both find out his true name, and the detective himself finds out his true identity. Things get turned for the worse when Sherlock comes up with what he believes a clever plan, a plan that he keeps secret, in order to beat the consulting criminal at his own game. But it could be that Moriarty has messed with the sociopath's mind. . . Which means he may be going mad. But despite all of this, and keeping this secret away from John, Mr Holmes is a restless man, and he will not stop at nothing until he has caught---and stopped--- the enemy(Dr.Watson, however, is less determined). With an IQ above average and being a highly-functioning sociopath at best, and a detective partner who happens to be a doctor at his side, Sherlock is on a wild hunt in which the scent gets nearer. . . . But the trail is getting fainter every time he is one step closer. The game is on. . . {FANFIC WRITER'S NOTE: The reason why I edited the summary was because I realized I turned it into something totally different than how I planned it. Fortunately, it has turned out better, haha. And so, in this Sherlock fanfic, rather than focusing on the detective solving cases, it's focused on his confrontation with James Moriarty and how he tries to defeat him. Some things are like in the TV Show, but I'm going to make things different or add stuff. I hope you've enjoyed it so far!}

"Why couldn't I have had a normal life? Why do you have to be so... you?" // "This is the hand you've been dealt, Sophia. There's nothing you can do about it. Play the game the best you can with the cards you've got. That's all you can do."// "I don't want to play the game any more, James." I weep and see his look of sympathy, or as close to it as he can get. "You've ruined me." // "I didn't mean to, Sophia, truly. I just wanted to make you like me, that was all. I wanted to have someone that would understand me, how I act and how I feel. I wanted that person to be you." **CURRENTLY BEING EDITED** IN THE PROCESS OF BEING EDITED, PLEASE BEAR WITH THE ERRORS AND PLOT HOLES
