What does the future have in store? For fifteen year old Maxine, not much. She is still adjusting to living with her grandparents after her parents's mission for Manage Core, a space exploration program, ended with them dead in space. But Maxine isn't alone, there are four other children who have lost parents to Manage Core's failed missions as well. What will happen when these children learn that the crystal necklaces their parents left them are more than just pretty jewelry?
