Fuga de destin duce într-un singur loc, acolo unde a început totul. Poate că le-a fost sortit să trăiască o iubire de neuitat, dar viața le-a croit drumuri diferite. Un trecut atârnat sub semnul întrebării și cinci ani departe de tot ce conta cu adevărat sunt doar două aspecte care caracterizează povestea controversată de dragoste a celor doi protagoniști. Poate că le-a fost dat să se reîntâlnească ani mai târziu, dar lui i-a sunat telefonul când ea trecea prin fața lui. Un final mult așteptat sau poate un nou început plin de surprize ia naștere fix sub ochii cititorilor. Dar ce se întâmplă atunci când soarta îi aduce față în față? Când totul ia o nouă întorsătură și planurile nu mai coincid?

Book 1 of Dan Barnes Series. I am a single male with a degree in science and engineering. My name is Dan Barns, I was in the army for four years, worked in the private sector for five years with a six figure salary and was bored out of my mine. I grew a great nest egg, but I was not cut out to wear a suit and tie and then attend meetings everyday. I wanted so much more. I am six foot even, and I weigh around 186 on a bad day. My hair is brown with natural black streaks, and I have a nice tan. I love the great outdoors. I grew up as a single kid with a single parent who worked all the time. I aced science every time and fixed things for my mother and myself because of a lack of money. I never knew my dad, but once a year, my mother would get a check for my upkeep. My dad was a well traveled man and never stuck around after mom had me. Things were tough, but we made it. I got scholarships for my doctorate in both fields. I graduated as a doctor in six years. Problem that shaped me into the man I am today was, my mom died when I was 16 and I deicide to test out of school, joined the military, spent four years as special operative, and into college as an adult, I tested out of some of the easier classes. I kept the house because it was paid for and was in mine and my mother's name. I kept her truck, because it was also paid for and it helped when I need to remember her. I was twenty seven when I walked across the stage for my diploma and was sought after by some very big companies. I worked for one of these companies for five years and then I was bored. I retired at thirty one. I laid low, putting around my house, helping my neighbors, and helping out at the boys and girls club coaching basketball. For two years, I stayed in my own little piece of the gulf. I did not spend a lot of money, I fixed things, sold electric back to the electric company, and had fun with the teens. At a young age both Forth and Beam believes they will remain inseparable. Even if they just met after their toddler days separation, they believe they will spend their school days together. They even plan up to their college days. Beam becoming a surgeon and Forth saying he'll make a castle for his lovely Beam. Everything are perfect in their crazy little world until Forth has to go back to New York for a supposed to be summer vacation. Beam waited...waited...and waited but Forth dissapears. Forth never comes back. It was hard for Beam to accept that; losing a friend and losing faith to promises. Through the years he has grown distance to people and has become the cold Prince he is now. Set immediately after the events in Souja. Duchess Contessina DeBaringer has been betrothed since infancy to the last man in the world she wants to marry. Two days after the diagnosis- an offer comes in for his second daughter Millicent's hand in marraige that is too good to pass up and her father accepts immediately. However the offer is from a Baron Thaddius Salgria- of Salgria Shipping for his eldest son- Kragan. Who has spent his whole life on ships, either seaships or skyships. And Kragan is a natural sailor, when he's not designing, commissioning and building the ships himself. And for Millicent- the insult to the injury is that Kragan and his family are orcs. Millicent is furious with the match and outright refuses. So Contessina suggests that her father switch the marraige matches between herself and her sister. And to keep the news of her condition a secret- lest it be known and the family honor be ruined. Contessina and her father hatch a plan to pull it off. The doctors give her betrothed a fake but secret dianosis of being an horse riding accident and that she is now barren in order for herself to be released from the betrothal, which works. And the same lie about the horse riding accident is enough to ward off suspicion as to why she is taking medication to mask the symptoms of her real fatal illness to the Salgrias. But upon meeting her new groom- Contessina realizes that he is her love match and everything she never knew she always wanted and needed. So will she be able to keep her deadly secret to herself long enough to save her family from ruination- and more importantly- save Kragan from ruination too?Concluida
