The book is based on the northern part of Nigeria and Africa at large. It speaks on how young girls were being forced into marriage with their Grandfathers, female circumcision, lack of education and watching women labor and give birth at home which is very bad and which should be stopped. Although, if there is no education and sign of literacy, this culture stems to destroy many lives out of ignorance.

Mrs. Robert who passionately want her adopted daughter married by all means keep advising her to stay courageous and never look down on her self.
