First, she wakes up in the body of a Meowth out of all things. What's worse? She can't remember anything. She meets a confined Chespin running from forces who sees his life as forfeit. The sky is cracking. Pokémon are going berserk, and evil sorcerers are using them as puppets. In an effort to fight back, they join the Retaliation Corps for answers...but the world is cruel.

In a world ravaged by war started by a wicked hydreigon, the pokemon have been split into three groups - Outcasts, Heretics and Darkness. Two members of the Outcasts Guild - a meowstic called Cleo and her small dedenne companion Spark - stumble upon an odd discovery. Something that sparks a little hope amongst the Outcasts. The hope that one day, the Darkness just might be defeated and pokemon can live in peace once more. However, this discovery sets two assassins - an androgynous zorua named Harlequin and a joker of a banette named Enigma - after Cleo and her friends. What unfolds next is a roller-coaster of events that throw our heroes right into the epic battle between good and evil. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. You get to see a different version of Ash Ketchum (close to how he has been depicted in the anime) in 2 chapters of this book. Q - Is Team Rocket the same as in the anime? A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime. Team Rocket is darker than in any previous versions and has a purpose and a plan other than stealing. Giovanni's plan plays out slowly in the course of three books. Q - It has time travel? A - It does, time travel is hinted at in the first book with the actual "time traveling" in the second book. Q - "I hope the protagonist has a father, hahaha" A - Yes, he does. The character mostly appears in flashbacks but is an important character.

With the help of a new human friend named Alex Turner and his pokemon partner named Eevee also known as Ben, they travel around the world and defend humanity and Pokemon's from threats while awaiting and hopping that the Autobots have gotten their messages and they will come and they also hope....the Decepticons will not also come as well as they fear they will bring theie war to this peaceful planet but no matter what happens, the Autobots will stand and defend the lifeforms within Earth no matter the cost.
