Ellie Washington thought that life was pretty normal; graduating from college and deciding to pursue a writing career in Australia was everything she could have ever dreamed of. While she realizes that she cannot write full-time without a job to get her started, Ellie picks up a full-time position as an assistant to Lucas Gabriel, a recent college grad who runs his father's company in Melbourne. Ellie realizes that Lucas' privilege and partying is enough of a handful, until Lucas' father prompts him to step up if he wants to keep his position, which makes Lucas realize that he can't step up to the plate without Ellie's guidance and mature nature. There is also the never-ending feud between Lucas and his former classmate, Alex Michaels, who threatens to turn Ellie's life into a complete nightmare after taking an interest in her to get back at Lucas. Can Ellie and Lucas put their hatred for each other aside to help each other break-free from their past?

[Wattys 2023 Grand Prize Winner] [coming to ebook, KU and paperback September 9, 2026] Preorder available now (link in my bio) --- After an eight-hour flight sitting next to her high school nemesis Jackson Carter, fashion designer and barista Isabelle Curtis thought that would finally be the last she would see of him. But as the saying goes, famous last words. * * * Isabelle Curtis and Jackson Carter were fierce academic rivals in high school, up until Jackson moved to the UK in junior year for boarding school. Eight years later, Jackson has returned from abroad to take on the role of CEO at his late father's company. When Isabelle and Jackson meet again, there's a war of words, banter and a passionate dislike towards each other. Throw in a high school reunion, some more chaos, and a 'deal' in the mix-one that might just involve a little faking and pretending. It's all fun and games and tit for tat, almost just like in high school, until real feelings become involved...
