"Arya, we are pleased to tell you that we've finally completed the solution for the cure that you have been helping us with for so long." My dark eyes scanned Helen's, searching for any sign of hesitation or unsureness. Instead, they found only confidence. No excitement or anything. Just pure confidence. My parents' deaths were still fresh in my mind, forever burned there, always haunting me. My dad had passed away in his sleep and attacked my mom as one of them, and once my mother was one, too, they came for me, but Helen and her confident group of doctors and scientists rescued me before it was too late. Since then, I've lived with them in their lab in the countryside where there are no infected people. They said that my hometown was one of the lucky ones that didn't get hit with the virus for a long time, and that everything had begun exactly two years before my parents, some of the first from my town to fall, died. They'd been researching me for the two years before I knew what was happening to the earth. And they said that I was perfect for them, and that, using me, they would discover the vaccine that would rid us all of the virus. What I didn't know was that this wouldn't be the end, it would be the start, and that this so called cure they'd created would be the downfall of many, including some of them. This would be the end of only one thing: this safe haven I've been living in, surrounded by medical and technical geniuses. From that day onward, I would be on my own...right?

Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved.
