Moving. Again. Bella Jones doesn't know what to expect this time. A remote area, a busy city, lonely woods, crowded town, relaxing beach, quiet nature, downtown rush, she's seen it all. Or so she thought she has. All except a haunted house...
Despite the feeling in my guts, I want to see him, touch him, or just even hear his quiet voice. I hear nothing but the wind howling, brushing past my face, like daggers against my soft flesh. "Niall?" I call, my voice a little sore. "Niall! Please answer me!"
I turn around and hear the wind rustling in the trees. Leaves falling to the ground, one by one, as if rehearsed. I turn my head and try to see through my wild hair. I feel as if I'm being watched, but there isn't anybody here. Or, no one that I can spot. "Niall! Please?" I whisper loudly.
Why isn't he answering? I wipe my nose with the back of my hand. "Niall?" I'm at the tip of crying when I hear a voice behind me. I turn around and fall backwards.

He remembers... laughter. Trees. A voice calling his name. Then nothing.
The sickness eats away at Sirreth Saenerys. It steals his memories, dulls his emotions, and makes him a stranger even to himself. Forks is quiet, safe-but suffocating. Until Bella comes back.
Bella. She was always the bright one, pulling him into the light. But now, her presence dredges up things he thought were gone. Memories flicker and burn like old film-crackling, slipping through his fingers.
Then the parking lot. Screeching tires. A van spinning out of control. It shouldn't have stopped, but it did. And Sirreth saw-hands pushing, shadows moving. They weren't his. They weren't human.
The Cullens are more than they seem, but so is Sirreth. The illness isn't just sickness. His blood, his mind-it's different. Ancient. Dangerous.
Shadows flicker at the edges of his vision. The more he learns, the less he understands. What is he? Why is this happening to him? And why does it feel like the truth could destroy everything?
