Lori Venderbelt is a new hire intern pharmacist in the city of Gotham. Driven by her own rebellious behavior, she eventually becomes entranced by Arthur Fleck, a stand-up comedian that only wants his life to become normal.  It's only when they both meet that their desire to become something utterly intangible, they grow a bond. She finds herself going down the spiral of the corrupted city, alongside with a man who has lost his own sanity.

As an aspiring writer, it's difficult not to look at stories you love and wonder 'What if?' I have notice how the Joker's origin in The Killing Joke and the Joker movie (2019) both stories take place during the 1980s. But what if it took place today? That's what I try to answer! In this original work I explore how a complex character like the Joker could emerge and be influence by current social problems. It's a romantic, and specially mysterious short story that I wish one day could help me make it to DC as a comic book writer, and if I don't, at least I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy reading it! Disclaimer: This story is an original idea, of course I reference moments from DC comics and I borrow their characters to tell the story (After all, It's a fan fiction), but each character belongs to the respective owners.
