A couple crumpled pieces of paper surround me. Papers that I have failed at.
I read the finished sentence,
'My name is Merideth Olivia Cunningham, I am twelve. I am staying with a man called Rob Patrick. He talks too much. Right now I am alone in a small condo. I write in a notebook Mr. Patrick bought for me. It is the only possession I own, besides my suitcase and the contents of it. That is all for today.' I put the date at the bottom, 'April 13th, 1994,' along with my sign out, 'sincerely, Merideth.'

"Don't go inside! Stay!" She said, holding her hand up to show me her palm and then I leaned over the balcony, resting my forearms on the railing to hold me up. I rolled my eyes as I exhaled deeply. Apparently I was a dog now. But fuck, It's her! What are the fucking chances. It feels like I'm in one of those Wattpad novels that Beth always reads. She quickly rushed inside and opened her blinds so that I could see right into her apartment. I watched her rush over to her stereo to lower the volume and then she came rushing back out, out of breath. "Did you get my note?" I said and then she shook her head trying to reject what I was saying. "No, it's yours I gave it to you!" She seemed upset and a little sad that I wanted to give her money back. "Hey, come on. This is a sign from whatever forces are at work here, what are the chances that you would be living right across from me!? This is fucking crazy, I can't accept the money and the universe is giving me a chance to return it." Samantha's P.O.V. Hi, my name's Samantha. When I was just a baby my parents left me in an orphanage. When I was about four I started to develope powers. This was something that had never happened before, other than if you were an experiment, or if you were Superman. Anyway, I could melt things, freeze them, move things without touching them, I could speak to people through their mind and no one else would know, stuff like that. I had no idea why I could do these things but I could. Other kids in the orphanage became scared of me, mostly cause I couldn't control my powers. Even the headmistress of the orphanage was afraid. At the time however I had no idea why I couldn't play with the other kids, so it made me sad. Eventually I was given my own room, I would write and draw and I had asked the headmistress to teach me how to read and she did. I stayed till I was ten, then I ran.
