A Spider Reborn

"Did I do good Mr.Stark?" Spiderman asked weakly. Half of his body covered in lethal energy burns. His now unmasked face covered in blood. His right arm useless as the Infinity stones fell off his gloved hand.

"Kid..." Tony Stark shed tears watching the teenager lay dying again, this time saving the universe by using the accursed stones to erase Thanos and his entire army from existence. He was silent as the rest of the Avengers started to gather around.

Gulping down his sorrow, Tony asked a single Question. "Why?" It was supposed to be him here, Damn it! But when all was said and done, he once again underestimated both Thanos and Parker's resolve.

Then the last words of the kid that took Stark's place were uttered, "I wanted to be like you..."
