The occasional one-shot of my characters and their romantic interest goes here. Feel free to make a request! I just might pick it up. :) Many, if not most, shorts are inspired by songs. I'll put the song up if it did! I'm including the one-shots already up on my profile so I can have them all nice and neat in here. Forewarning, some of them are rated R/M for various reasons, from borderline citrus to hideously gruesome. Yes, there are torture scenes and awful deaths in a book about ships. The Song of Deirdre Part I
Deirdre Morningsong returns to Skyrim seeking vengeance on the Nords who murdered her parents, only to be captured by Imperial soldiers who mistake her for a Stormcloak rebel. After escaping both the Imperial dungeons and the destructive return of the dragon Alduin, she resolves to discover what strange power is within her, and what the dragons have to do with it. Follows the main quest lines of the game, weaving them into a story of adventure and romance, with numerous twists on the canon. I'm hoping it's equally enjoyable for those who've played the game and those who haven't. Trigger warnings: rape is mentioned, one is attempted and prevented, but none are completed. Some other sexual assault. The first chapters are PG-13, but later ones become R-rated. (Feedback on appropriate ratings appreciated.) Skyrim is part of the Elder Scrolls series of games, copyright by Bethesda Softworks. The image for the book cover is from the game. I've only posted Part I here, but will soon post the rest (four parts total, 62 chapters). I've worked in nonfiction up to now because it's easier for me to describe places and events I can experience first-hand. After several years abroad, all Nova wants is to return to her home country of Skyrim and live a peaceful life. She returns to a country at war, where she has few allies and fewer friends. After surviving a near-execution and a dragon attack, her world changes forever. In an effort to find a new lease on life, she joins the Companions, a legendary band of warriors.
