Lena suggests marriage counseling to deal with Stef's anxiety. Stef hasn't wanted to be intimate for the past three months - since Tess moved in next door. We will journey through Stef finally coming to terms with her sexuality and past, and learning to let Lena in completely so she can love her fully.

This story is true to canon up until Tess moves in next door in Season 5. This story is my version of Stef's anxiety surfacing due to Tess Brown-Bayfield moving in next door. This will explore what her subconscious level of anxiety looked like throughout her relationship with Lena, and how that impacted their marriage.

This story picks up in the summer of 1984 after the death of Stef Foster's older brother, Frank, Jr. Callie, having experienced her mother's panic attacks from an early age, asked Lena to stay because she thinks her mom is having a breakdown from the sadness of everything that's happened over the past year. Lena has a choice to make: leave everything behind and start a new life with her girlfriend in NYC or let Stef go once and for all. Will these two families finally come together and grow strong? Or are they destined to remain friends living on opposite sides of the country?
