"Just take a risk for once in your life!" Arkin begged. I tapped my foot impatiently. Arkin let's out a growl before stomping off to do his pouting.

"Collect more while you're at it." I call after him. His retreating figure disappearing into the cloak of the woods.

Once alone I turn around to look at the rubble of the city beneath my feet. The city that Arkin so desperately wanted to visit outside of our faction. It was a land my father used to tell me stories about. The land of the dead.

The only living creatures there were was the deformities from the radiation, and rebels, who left the faction. I had to admit part of me wanted to take a step into the dangerous land. Just to feel the thrill of adrenaline rush through me like a sugar rush. To defy my now greedy father.

After checking for Arkin I take my chance. My foot makes impact with the rocky surface below. The old cement and tar crunches beneath my feet.

"Hello Faction Impermissus."

THE REASONS || Bellamy Blake ~ the 100, écrit par KylieRutledge17

BOOK I: The Reasons - the ground is unforgiving. So is survival. Madison Cameron was born in space, a child of the Ark, never feeling the sun on her skin or breathing the fresh, unfiltered air of Earth. She's never experienced the sensation of water, the way it would flow against her or lap around her as she swam. For three generations, humanity has clung to the Ark, floating in the cold vacuum of space, its fragile walls the only barrier between them and extinction. The Ark was all they knew-sterile, artificial, far from the dangers and beauty of Earth below. But now, the Ark is dying. It can't sustain them much longer. They are the last hope of mankind, a fragile chance for survival. The Earth they land on, however, is nothing like they imagined. It's not a fresh start or paradise - it's a nightmare. The air is toxic, wildlife monstrous, and every step is a battle for survival. The Earth is alive, but it's unforgiving. Amidst this chaos, Madison and Bellamy Blake find themselves at the forefront, taking on the roles of leaders. Both carry the heavy weight of responsibility, knowing that the survival of the remaining human race rests in their hands. They both strive to protect their people, to do whatever it takes to ensure their survival. But where Madison is focused on the harsh reality of survival-pragmatic, calculating, determined to keep them alive - Bellamy's vision is driven by something more abstract: freedom. They clash over their ideals - her need for structure, his thirst for freedom - and every time their paths cross, the tension between them makes their already perilous situation even more volatile. Yet, the Earth continues to test them. It doesn't care about their petty squabbles or their hopes for a better future. The planet doesn't care about Madison's desire for control or Bellamy's lust for freedom. It only cares about one thing: survival. Today's the day. The day that I was to die. Having had time to mentally prepare myself, I was accepting of it. Little did I know that my fate was not to die, but to be given the chance to live. Today, I and ninety -nine other delinquents would be shipped off to earth. A planet no one has stepped foot on in 97 years, what's the worst that could happen?
