Book Three of Temporal Exploring 101.
Temporal explorer Cathy Hart finds herself left to her own devices after her communication link to her Temporal Instructor in the 23rd century ceased to operate, leaving Cathy for all intents and purposes stranded in the 1960s, enrolled at St. Albert's, a semi-exclusive British boarding for girls.
It does not help that the girl Cathy has been charged to observe and investigate on her First Temporal Assignment - the famous, mysterious Natty Fogg, Cathy's friend and classmate at that school, the math whiz who developed the mathematical formalism underlying temporal transit technology - has disappeared.
As the girls of the Upper Fifth embark on an unauthorized excursion to London in order to find Natty and bring her back to St. Albert's, friendships and loyalties are put to a severe test.
This turns out to be only the start of a series of dangerous and eye-opening encounters as Cathy and Natty finally get an inkling of who and what they may be up against.
