A girl, who entered the bar with a confident stride. She had her hair in a pony, bangs covering her eyes, it waved from side to side as she walked. But he felt like he could see them like he still saw her. Her black dress cut off at her mid-thigh, the fabric clinging to her frame. Her boots went up just past her knees, the heels clicking on the concrete floor. There was something about her, he couldn't describe. As he watched her, he wanted to know more but felt like he couldn't get close. She seemed untouchable as if she was in her own cloud where nothing ever affected her. It was evident in the way she walked, radiating in confidence. But inside she was a wreak, waiting for someone to reach out to her. She was a broken person, who tried to hide all her pain with a façade. Jaehyun saw right through her. Jaehyun saw right through you.

The wedding night was cold. Not because of the air, but because of the silence between them. Taehyung sat on the edge of the bed, fingers curled into fists, his breath uneven. He was trapped. Forced into a marriage with the one man he despised. Jeongguk stood near the window, watching the city lights, pretending not to notice the storm raging in Taehyung's eyes. He had known this day would come, had dreamt of it a thousand times. But in those dreams, Taehyung was happy. "You must be thrilled," Taehyung's voice was sharp, bitter. "Getting to marry me despite knowing I love someone else." Jeongguk let out a quiet laugh, but there was no humor in it. "You think I wanted this?" Taehyung turned to him, eyes burning with hatred. "Isn't that why you never refused? Because you wanted to win, like you always do?" Jeongguk flinched. Just for a second. But he masked it with a smirk, stepping closer. "If I wanted to win, Taehyung, I would have made sure you never even looked at another man." Taehyung's breath caught in his throat. His fingers curled tighter against the sheets as he stared at Jeongguk, disbelief flashing in his eyes. "What... what did you-" "Nothing," Jeongguk cut in. He didn't need Taehyung to understand. Not now. Not ever. Because love, like dew, is fleeting. Silent. Unnoticed. Gone before morning.
