Alexa is 4 when she loses her dad. Not long after that her mom starts drinking and smoking a lot she loses her job and ends up on the couch or hooking up with random guys at there apartment. The pay bills aren't getting paid so instead of going to school Alexa works.

When Alexa turns 17 she grabs the money that she has been saving for years and runs off little does she know her life is about the chance for good. Werewolf's, vampires, warlocks, nymphs, Alexa finds out there all true and there is something called the society of the lost shadows...
